Terminate Active Serial Port Connections

You can terminate individual serial port sessions or all serial port sessions. Terminating a session:

  • terminates any local Lighthouse initiated sessions.

  • reaches out to other Lighthouses to request sessions are terminated for the selected port.

  • contacts Opengear nodes and requests that they terminate all sessions on the selected port (this happens after the previous actions).

Note: This function does not support the termination of sessions that were initiated on third-party nodes.

All of a user's active serial port sessions are terminated when the:

  • user's password is changed.

  • user is disabled.

Note: To terminate active serial port connections, you must have the appropriate permissions. For more information, see port management.
